Really. Need I say more? The Classic in the genre and most probably the standard by which others will be judged and compared to for quite some time to come. Favorite episode? Least favorite? No other sitcom at least in recent memory has held such a profound affect on so many aspects of culture. The show re-defined the way we think, the way we talked. George, Elaine, Jerry, Kramer, Neuman - all seemed like part of everyone's family.

The Kramer character portrayed by Michael Richards was pure comedic genius. I realize that the character has suffered some via the recent public tirade by Michael Richards on stage, but even the reaction to that occurrence is a statement relevant to how deeply engrained into our lives this show and it's characters were/are. I would love to see a big screen production of their lives now, as they may have progressed with age.

Personally speaking I never really liked the show. The characters were OK, but there was "something" missing. The one show I feel that really hit the mark was Cheers. Through the years the characters themselves showed us just how routine we are. We may feel spontaneous and may say we truly like it, but I think it's just a ruse. We need that constant routine. We need that deeper level of "belonging". Only through interaction with others who are very much alike can we see just how different we are.

I feel that Cheers really defined us and our culture.
