Before I was married I had been living with a friend. He had a nice little house. He also had a cat. I lived with him for 2.5 years. I always felt kind of funny when I was alone. Like I was being watched, but just put it up to being in a new place. It had a basement the same size as the rest of the house. It was fully finished and we had the TV, VCR and other stuff down there. The basement was always colder than the rest of the house, but since we moved in in January that didn't bother us either. I put plastic over the windows to help cut down the drafts and that sort of worked. Over the next year everything was OK. That feeling of being watched never went away. Near the end of the first year I started having feelings, I can't explain them, whenever I was in the basement. By this time my friend had moved back to Ontario, but I stayed in the house. All of his stuff was still there. I was also dating my wife at the time. The cat was starting to get very upset about being/going into the basement. Her food, water and litter box were all down there. Finally she stopped eating and going to the basement so we moved her stuff upstairs. By now even during summer days the basement was very chilly. We still watched movies and stayed nights there. I started to do my laundry away from the house too. I was working untill midnight or so and I would leave the porch light and kitchen light on so when I came home I could see what I was doing. On more than one occassion the lights were off. I was sure I had put them on, but couldn't remember for sure. On nights I was positive I had left the lights on I went and stayed at my wife's place.

We never saw anything. Nothing malicious ever happened to us. There was definitely something going on there, but we don't know what. I think the lack of personal sightings or escalation was due to the cat. I think that without the cat things would have been a lot different. I don't know how I know this I just do. Just thinking about this brings goose-bumps to my skin.

There was something malicious Chickenman. Don't you remember the bass speakers for the surround sound always blowing its fuse when you were not home? It never happened at any other place. The last time it happened a fire almost started. I hated that house. It was really creepy. Sad

She's my wife. We were dating when I was living in the house. She spent a good deal of time there too.

We've got three ghosties in our house (we live in a former boarding home in NH). There's an older man, a little girl, and a little boy. The older man is in our unit, because he lived there till the day he died. The little girl, no-one knows who she is or where she came from...she likes to look out the front door at people going by. The little boy stays in the basement, and there's a big white stuffed bear that guards him--we've *seen* this thing change positions. My husband and some friends of ours were rearranging things in the basement cause we had some people move out who had sublet from us. They decided to take flashlights and a couple cameras down as well, to document the items that were left behind. The group was only separated when one or two people would move items from one side of the large room to the other, after inventorying. The bear was never touched...yet it changed its position, from 'looking' at the window area to 'looking' into the room. Wooooo.

With the little girl, it's a seen out of the corner of your eye type thing...she has long, light-coloured hair and wears a light-coloured dress. She's mischievous but not unfriendly or malicious. The little boy is hardly ever seen...he likes to peek around the corner of the basement walls to where his bear is. The old man, however! I've *seen* him...he's a little, stocky Italian man, always wearing the same dark broadcloth suit and a wide tie, smoking a cigar. We've smelled cigar smoke in the house when no one has been home and we're just coming in. The guy who takes care of the outside of the building and the grounds smokes cigars, but they're not the same and the smoke smells entirely different. Nano (the old man ghost) smoked Cuban cigars. Maintenance Dude smokes Garcia y Vegas.

Yep, he does. He is a very kindly man--er, ghost, though. I've never felt threatened by him. He reminds me of what little I remember of my own grandfather, right down to the cigar smell (he's a lot shorter than my grandfather was, though Smile ).

He did die in the house. He doesn't talk though...and if he did, I'm not sure I would understand him. I'm told he spoke mostly Italian. Very Happy

OH Gawd, I would be soooo outta there. I like my newer house w/no "personalities" versus an old place w/many. I used to party at this old leather tannery that was later rented out for multiple purposes, my brother in laws band practiced there. That place was so creepy, it had a long history, from what we knew lots of people died there. Drug OD's Drinking, Falling. We saw unexplained things all the time, my husband even saw things, and he does'nt believe in anything. The building had an old freight elevator that would go up and down on it's own, when you rode on it, it would stop mid-floor, my sister in law got so terrified once she crawled out of it as it was moving. There were cold areas that you could see your breath in the middle of summer, ghosts that ran the halls, knocking on doors, screaming, faces in the windows Gosh I could go on, but I'm kinda scared now.....
