Contrary to the fact that I started watching this show with the forethought that I was not going to like it - I do anyway. Some of the personalities of the little ones participating in the show remind me of the days gone by when anything truly did seem possible and achievable.

I, too, wasn't sure what to make of it. I'm not going to lie though.....I was PISSED when they killed the chicken a few weeks back. To have/allow KIDS to do that?????? Much less see/experience the death of an animal in such a way? "We've only been eating starches and not lots of meat" justifies the act???

I can appreciate and even respect the opinions of those that find it difficult to agree with the slaughter of animals for food. With that said however, I was raised in a part of the US that was not uncommon for boys of age 10 to be taken on hunting trips and in many cases even carry the gun. I hunt deer every year. Not a head hunter, I eat what I kill, which at least from my perspective does not violate the honor of the life cycle.

I was just PO'd with the reason behind the killing of the chicken. Not the act itself.
